Clearinghouse coordinator

Part-time

Purpose
Coordinate Love INC Clearinghouse Activities

Responsibilities

  1. Supervise all Clearinghouse volunteers.
  2. Manage related Community volunteer activities.
  3. Ensure intake volunteers:

- Answer incoming calls and listen compassionately to callers.
- Gather and record vital information regarding clients expressed needs and root causes.
- Verify all information relevant to meeting the client need.
- Conduct follow-up calls to clients.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Keep volunteer time records.

  1. Review and analyze information gathered by volunteers during the intake.
  2. Determine how to resource client needs and ensure needs to be referred are manageable and specific.
  3. Maintain accurate client records.
  4. Maintain accurate records of agency services and maintain referral relationships.
  5. Maintain accurate records of church ministries and volunteer individual resource inventories. Maintain referral relationships with Love INC partner churches, church ministries, and support Church Ministry Coordinators/Love INC Ministry Coordinators.
  6. Produce Clearinghouse activity reports and write short stories of impact.
  7. Conduct intakes as needed.
  8. Identify potential households from Clearinghouse interactions who may benefit from the Love INC Transformation Ministry programs.
  9. Provide any other support and assistance to Transformation Ministry program as needed.

Skills and Qualifications
The following knowledge, skills, and abilities may be acquired through a combination of formal education, self-education, prior experience, or on-the-job training.

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in social work, ministry, community development, or related field is recommended.
  2. A minimum of three years professional work experience recommended.
  3. Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the Apostles’ Creed.
  4. Discerning, non-judgmental attitude and the ability to listen, empathize, and accept others.
  5. Healthy, professional boundaries.
  6. Good communication skills.
  7. Ability to work independently and cooperatively. Dependable.
  8. Holistic based approach and Culture of Poverty experience or training.

begin now for kids coordinator

part-time

Purpose
Provide general oversight and leadership to Love INC’s Transformation Ministry Begin Now for Kids program and program volunteers.

Responsibilities

  1. Under the supervision of the Programming Manager, plans, organizes, supervises, and teaches recreational activities in the gym to groups of children ages 3-11.
  2. Provides leadership, guidance, counsel, and direction to volunteers; obtains approval for staff support when needed.
  3. Motivates volunteers and children to active involvement in programs and activities.
  4. Oversees conduct and behavior, preventing altercations and injuries through non-confrontational, non-physical, non-threatening techniques; corrects disciplinary problems in an understanding, positive, and non-physical manner; teaches conflict resolution through the development and use of verbal skills.
  5. Ensures compliance with the Begin Now for Kids Guidelines.
  6. Participate in meetings and training opportunities as requested.

Qualifications

  1. Personal relationship with Jesus Christ and agreement with the Apostles’ Creed
  2. Knowledge of the methods, techniques, and skills used in planning, organizing, scheduling, and teaching one or more of the recreational activities assigned.
  3. Ability to provide leadership and direction to program participants, volunteers, parents, and others.
  4. Ability to apply creativity, imagination, spontaneity, humor, perseverance, and a variety of motivational techniques to make activities successful.
  5. Ability to communicate effectively and to work productively with participants, parents, volunteers, and others in a positive, pleasant, professional, and productive manner.
